In general, cataract removal is a non-urgent procedure and the decision to perform it is made after the doctor has discussed it with the patient. It may be postponed during the pandemic, except in a few exceptions considered urgent, such as a cataract causing closed-angle glaucoma or a traumatic cataract requiring immediate surgical intervention.
