What is a vitreous?;

Article

The vitreous body is located in the inner cavity of the eye, between the crystalline lens and the retina.

It is a clear gel that gives shape to the eyeball. It contains mainly water (98%), but also sugars and collagen.

The elements of the vitreous remain fixed, unlike other parts of the eye, so that any components (e.g. blood or cells) that enter the vitreous are either absorbed very slowly and with difficulty, or remain and are surgically removed (if necessary).
