I met Mr. Gozzarides at the scientific conferences of his specialty in which he participates as a speaker and I provided translation services. Having extensive experience in many scientific - mainly medical conferences - over the past 25 years, I have been able to distinguish the excellence of the scientist, the breadth of scientific knowledge, the responsibility and the seriousness of a great professional. In all of this, the crowning glory is Mr. Gozzarides' appetite, passion and love for his science and his patient. The final touch is always the personality of the man.
I honestly don't know how to start this review about Dr. Stratos Gozzarides. Maybe because the majority of reviews on the internet are about something simple and ephemeral like an inanimate product or service that makes our daily lives easier. So I'll just testify a few things from the bottom of my heart. From a very young age I was diagnosed with myopia, astigmatism and but difference. I remember feeling like a traveling troupe with my mother from eye doctor to eye doctor. Initially the problem was that I was just a kid with big glasses. Somewhere around 25 and while serving in the military the right eye started having problems. I was diagnosed with a detachment and had surgery at a military hospital. Returning from Xanthi where I was serving the doctor there told me for the first time about Mr. Gozzarides. Over the next few years, unfortunately, the right eye began to malfunction. I came to have only 2-3 tenths of visual acuity. Now I will not go into medical details which I do not possess. I could only see with my left eye basically. In 2019 I woke up one morning and my good eye could not see clearly. I lost the ground beneath my feet. I contacted the doctor immediately and within a few weeks everything came back. All my life I have experienced a tremendous amount of anxiety that at some point I will not be able to see. In all these years friends, acquaintances and family have always said to get opinions from different doctors. The answer given by each of the doctors was simple and always clear. As long as Stratos is watching you there is nothing more we can do and that you are in the best hands. To sum up, I would like to express my immense gratitude all these fifteen years to the doctor and man Gozzarides who always found a way to make me believe that I will see the next day with his complete and expanded knowledge of his specialty and his inspiring speech. I am 52 years old and I have myopia (8 degrees) since a young age.In my last visit to the ophthalmologist I was diagnosed with a retinal tear in my left eye. Because there was a high risk of retinal detachment, I had to undergo IMMEDIATELY an Argon Laser Photocoagulation ... I was recommended an ophthalmological center which has a lot of experience in this kind of surgery... The next day the laser surgery started and within 10 minutes I had a fainting spell !!!! In fact, the reaction of those present was that it is a common phenomenon!!!! I then decided to visit Mr. Gozzarides having excellent recommendations from 4 people who had had their surgery and had stressed to me about his effectiveness!!! The result was excellent ... In the next two weeks he performed successive laser surgeries , to treat the crack in my left eye!!! He is an authority in his field as a scientist , but what characterizes him is his simplicity and kindness!!! From the first moment we met ,he explained to me the size of the problem and how it would be treated!!! I consider myself lucky and safe to have met such a man and doctor and I highly recommend him!!!

The doctor I met by chance was probably a carpenter. My 16 year old daughter had a total retinal detachment after a serious health problem and lost her vision in one eye after 4 surgeries were performed. We visited many doctors, all the same, nothing different and optimistic. We felt that no one wanted to follow up with us anymore because there is a possibility of the other eye being detached with all that this means. However, Mr. Gozzarides stood out first and foremost for the treatment he had, not only to us parents but primarily to the main person my teenage daughter who was psychologically a mess and living in fear of losing her sight and the second eye of a child whose life is ahead of her. On the occasion of yesterday's visit to the doctor, I would like to report my personal experience that thanks to Mr. Gozzarides« timely and valid intervention and guidance I was rescued from unacceptable harm or even death. In March 2018 I visited the doctor, on the recommendation of a friend, for some visual disturbances that three -ten previous ophthalmologists concluded could be due to a vitreous disorder. After a thorough examination, he decided that there was no particular eye damage that could justify the symptoms and quite rightly, which the previous ones did not, referred me to a neurologist for further tests (MRI of the brain, etc). The tests showed a benign 3 cm tumor (pituitary macroadenoma). After a first unsuccessful surgery (interstitial) in April 2018, a completely successful craniotomy was performed in 2019 where the excellent »miracle worker« neurosurgeon Mr. Pan. Lawyer at YGEIA managed to remove it completely. I am particularly grateful to Mr. Gozzarides because he did not limit himself to the narrow specialty of the ophthalmologist but treated my case holistically. Such doctors »adorn" the profession. I highly recommend him, especially for very difficult cases like mine.
I decided to become an Optometrist because I wore thick and ugly glasses (myopia 7.5 degrees) from a very young age. With many subsequent specializations in Optometry , I met many Ophthalmologists. 6 months ago I was diagnosed with detachment of the vitreous body of the d. eye. The myopes (flies) and especially the ring (Weiss Riing ) were causing me severe discomfort. Eclectic Ophthalmologists informed me that the symptoms might diminish or even disappear within 3 months, but might remain forever, but they refrained from recommending surgery (vitrectomy). Five months ago, in the city where I live, by two ophthalmologists, for my left eye (in which I knew that there was a detached vitreous, but intense flashes of light immediately motivated me) the diagnosis of a retinal crack was made, it was explained to me that it was not possible to apply laser or cryopreservation, because it was possible to cause bleeding, due to the proximity of the location of the crack with a large vessel and I was recommended weekly monitoring. The risk of retinal detachment occurring, so that I would have to undergo an emergency vitrectomy, was real. The need to search for a vitreoretinal surgeon immediately arose, which I did online. The doctor was selected on the basis of the sole criterion of the emerging biographical qualifications of knowledge and experience. I have Stickler syndrome, which is a multisystemic inherited condition. Because of the syndrome, I underwent multiple retinal detachment surgeries in 2012 and ended up with total vision loss in my right eye. After also multiple retinal detachment surgeries in my left eye, in Thessaloniki in 2010 and after a stable and complication-free period (about 10 years), a new detachment appeared in my «only» eye. We got to know the excellent doctor-scientist and great man, Mr. Gozzarides, through the internet, from the comments of his patients, his rich biography and his excellent studies. My husband had a macular hole in his left eye. We were in a bad psychological state when we visited Mr. Gozzarides, because we had a failed surgery with another ophthalmologist. The visual acuity in his left eye was only 2/10, with the risk of losing the eye completely if the hole was not closed. The doctor who performed the first surgery gave us a 50% chance of closing the hole in a second surgery. Mr. Gozzarides, after examining my husband in detail, told us ' I will close the hole 100%". Words that turned out to be very true. His words were so convincing that at the same time we decided to perform the operation on Mr. Gozzarides. Mr. Stratos Gozzarides is the ophthalmologist surgeon that I was lucky enough to find on my way during the great adventures I had with the health of my left eye. I make the remark because one should take into account that my right eye with a congenital problem has only a peripheral vision of 2/10. Understandably, any failure in dealing with my severe left eye problem would have led me into another different world, and the doctor had a huge burden and responsibility to keep me in the world of sighted people. So twice, in 2013 initially and 2021 subsequently Stratos Gozzarides was there. And because he was there with his knowledge and skill I am here today and I can read and write again. An excellent doctor with profound scientific training and constant monitoring of the developments in his science. An excellent man who approaches each patient individually and makes them feel unique. A scientist who makes you feel completely confident and elevates the patient's morale . A Doctor whose motto is that «Everyone leaves here healthy». So by definition, such a doctor could not but be accompanied by a team of excellent collaborators and assistants in a perfectly organized practice where everything works in an exemplary manner. It would also be an oversight not to mention, due to the special days with the covid-19 pandemic, that in the practice you feel completely safe and the adherence to all the necessary protocols is absolute. I honestly don't know how to start this review about Dr. Stratos Gozzarides. Maybe because the majority of reviews on the internet are about something simple and ephemeral like an inanimate product or service that makes our everyday life easier. So I'll just testify a few things from the bottom of my heart. From a very young age I was diagnosed with myopia, astigmatism and but difference. I remember feeling like a traveling troupe with my mother from eye doctor to eye doctor. Initially the problem was that I was just a kid with big glasses. Somewhere around 25 and while serving in the military the right eye started having problems. I was diagnosed with a detachment and had surgery at a military hospital. Returning from Xanthi where I was serving the doctor there told me for the first time about Mr. Gozzarides. Over the next few years, unfortunately, the right eye began to malfunction. I came to have only 2-3 tenths of visual acuity. Now I will not go into medical details which I do not possess. I could only see with my left eye basically. In 2019 I woke up one morning and my good eye could not see clearly. I lost the ground beneath my feet. I contacted the doctor immediately and within a few weeks everything came back. All my life I have experienced a tremendous amount of anxiety that at some point I will not be able to see. In all these years friends, acquaintances and family have always said to get opinions from different doctors. The answer given by each of the doctors was simple and always clear. As long as Stratos is watching you there is nothing more we can do and that you are in the best hands. To sum up, I would like to express my immense gratitude all these fifteen years to the doctor and man Gozzarides who always found a way to make me believe that I will see the next day with his complete and expanded knowledge of his specialty and his inspiring speech. I met the doctor by chance. I went 13/7 to ATHENS CLINIC for a routine eye exam and the ophthalmologist told me that I have retinal detachment in my right eye. The shock was great because I didn't know if there would be someone to operate on me. Luckily for me, Mr. Gozzarides was operating that day. They called him from the clinic, and he agreed to do an emergency surgery. He examined me and after he also told me that there was a retinal detachment, he operated on me as an emergency and fixed my eye better than before. The issue is that I have had cataracts in both eyes and the right one had a vitreous gel detachment which I was told nothing can be done about. And yet my friends it can be done because this doctor is a specialist in such cases and he fixed the vitreous gel along with the retina. As a result of my aforementioned chatter, my vision is back to 10/10 and I can see better than before. He also has the virtue of listening to what you are saying and giving solutions. Finally what I noticed in his practice is the cleanliness, hygiene measures and state of the art machines. I highly recommend him and thank him publicly once again for saving my eye.'

Now when we say Man we mean it because it does not exist. I have been to his office many, many times without him looking at me as a patient but as a friend. And in the operating room you don't know when you go in and when you come out, as long as you follow the instructions correctly a quick recovery is a fact. Last December 2024 I was diagnosed with macular edema in my right eye. Through my relatives and through extensive personal research through the internet, my family and I decided to visit the Professor and Specialist for this condition, Mr. The tests indeed showed the specific damage. My psychology after this particular news was expected to collapse. However, Mr. Gozzarides with absolute calmness, confidence and self-confidence assured me that the problem will be solved, and specifically told me that the hernia will be closed and that he will give me my vision. This is the first time I've ever taken the trouble to review a professional, because it's really worth it. I feel obliged to do it for two reasons. First, to thank from the bottom of my heart the doctor who, with his knowledge, his many years of experience, his competence, and not only, has given me the opportunity to live a better quality life. My case was a very difficult case of a supraorbital cataract removal in a traumatic eye from childhood which made the removal procedure extremely difficult with a high risk of complications such as falling of the lens into the fundus and possible retinal detachment. The surgery was a complete success and today I am able to enjoy what I had lost. In the process of deciding which doctor to trust with this difficult surgery for my vision I had seen other doctors and all the reviews about Mr. Gozzarides and I did not believe my eyes, but after personal meetings and knowing Mr. Efstratios Gozzarides and his excellent colleagues I had no doubt who to trust with my vision. Today I thank God and I feel very lucky that I accidentally discovered Mr. Gozzarides and I thank him very much. 6 months ago I was diagnosed with detachment of the vitreous body of the d. eye. The myopes (flies) and especially the ring (Weiss Riing ) were causing me severe discomfort. Eclectic Ophthalmologists informed me that the symptoms might diminish or even disappear within 3 months, but might remain forever, but they refrained from recommending surgery (vitrectomy). The situation became unbearable and so I started looking for the most expert for my case. I chose Mr. S. Gozzarides, an Ophthalmic Surgeon specializing in vitreous and retinal detachments with brilliant studies in the UK and America. I visited him at the Ophthalmology Clinic-Centre he runs, where I found his high level of scientific training, responsibility and seriousness that distinguish him. Polite and courteous, he takes time with the patient to explain about his problem. He is assisted by excellent Associates and practices medicine in an office equipped with all the latest diagnostic instruments. He inspired me with immense confidence. I was pleasantly surprised by the speed, but at the same time the precision with which he performs the surgical operations, so that in a short time, the patient is relieved of his problem. I received the best treatment, underwent a vitrectomy without any inconvenience and returned home in a few hours. I visited the office of Mr. Gozzarides after my doctor's recommendation for a vitrectomy surgery in A.O.. I received a full check-up from his colleagues and then from him. The examination was absolutely meticulous and met my expectations.Having had misaligned lenses in both eyes for 35 years unfortunately or fortunately I have the experience to judge this because I have been monitored over the years and have had many examinations. What won me over from the beginning was the feeling that Mr. Gozzarides seemed to me to be completely specialized and at the same time modernized in terms of dealing with my problem. He was additionally available when I asked him to contact me to clarify some concerns I had after my visit. I decided to have the procedure with him as his approach filled me with confidence and optimism that everything will go well. I had the surgery, everything went well and already by the second week my vision has reached 7/10 without correction which exceeded my expectations as the eye before the surgery had finger vision. On the occasion of my visit to the doctor last week, I would like to share my personal experience that thanks to the valid and timely intervention and guidance of Mr. Gozzarides I was rescued from untoward harm or even death. In March 2018 I visited the doctor, on the recommendation of a friend, for some visual disturbances that three -ten previous ophthalmologists concluded could be due to a vitreous disorder. After a thorough examination, he decided that there was no particular eye damage that could justify the symptoms and quite rightly, which the previous ones did not, referred me to a neurologist for further tests (MRI of the brain, etc). The tests showed a benign 3 cm tumor (pituitary macroadenoma). After a first unsuccessful surgery (interstitial) in April 2018, a completely successful craniotomy was performed in 2019 where the excellent «miracle worker» neurosurgeon Mr. Pan. Lawyer at YGEIA managed to remove it completely. I am particularly grateful to Mr. Gozzarides because he did not limit himself to the narrow specialty of the ophthalmologist but treated my case holistically. Such doctors «adorn» the profession. I highly recommend him, especially for very difficult cases like mine.

All the necessary diagnostic tests were thoroughly done which the doctor evaluated in addition to the clinical examination which he did himself . Besides , I needed to call the doctor late for a problem and he was available to examine me again despite the late hour . Therefore I highly recommend him as a scientist and a human being .

I have Stickler syndrome, which is a multisystemic inherited condition. Because of the syndrome, I underwent multiple retinal detachment surgeries in 2012 and ended up with total vision loss in my right eye. After also multiple retinal detachment surgeries in my left eye, in Thessaloniki in 2010 and after a stable and complication-free period (about 10 years), a new detachment appeared in my «only» eye. After recommendations, I visited the office of Mr. Gozzarides, at the age of 22. Mr. Gozzarides and the staff of his centre made many persistent efforts, attending me many, many times, staying constantly close to the problem, which he successfully solved as he was always one step ahead of it. I am happy to say that the condition of the eye has been stabilized and having a functional vision, I was able to return to my daily life. Thank you very much to Mr. Gozzarides and his excellent staff for their undivided support and help with my problem. I am sure that without them, I would not have had this good result. We got to know the excellent doctor-scientist and great man, Mr. Gozzarides, through the internet, from the comments of his patients, his rich biography and his excellent studies. My husband had a macular hole in his left eye. We were in a bad psychological state when we visited Mr. Gozzarides, because we had a failed surgery with another ophthalmologist. The visual acuity in his left eye was only 2/10, with the risk of losing the eye completely if the hole was not closed. The doctor who performed the first surgery gave us a 50% chance of closing the hole in a second surgery. Mr. Gozzarides, after examining my husband in detail, told us ' I will close the hole 100%". Words that turned out to be very true. His words were so convincing that at the same time we decided to perform the operation on Mr. Gozzarides. As he had promised us the hole was closed, the eye was saved and I believe the visual acuity of his eye will return to satisfactory levels.
